Baptism
Please note: under current government restrictions, baptisms are not permitted to take place. Baptisms can take place from 17th May.
Baptism is the way in which someone becomes a Christian, when water is poured on the head in the name of The Holy Trinity.
Anyone can be baptised, at any age. Baptisms for children are often called christenings. We freely offer baptism for children and adults of the parish and beyond. Christenings can be performed on any day of the week, but especially on Saturdays and Sundays at midday. They are usually performed separately, but can also be carried out in the Sunday Mass if requested. A baptism is a precious occasion and we try to make it as special as possible. A baptismal candle, certificate and a Book of Bible Stories are presented. There is no fee for baptism but families are asked to make a donation. |
